Food Fluency is a food blog. But unlike most food bloggers, I don't really know what I'm talking about. Yet.
Julia Child started getting her skills at age 34. So, as far as I'm concerned, I'm ahead of the game.
My name is Leena and I grew up thinking boiled hot dogs were a home-cooked meal. Hey, we used the oven. I was in my 20s before I realized that food (beyond hot fudge sundaes) could taste, not only good, but wonderful!
But food still remained foreign to me. I didn't understand any of the flavor "rules" or cooking techniques.
Then I decided to let food stop intimidating me. So what if I had drained pasta with a slotted spoon, and that my chopsticks were covered in scorch marks from making s'mores on my gas stove. That sort of "creativity" had to count for something, right?
So here I am, attempting to become fluent in food. I hope you will join me.
